Identipet Terms and Conditions

1. Terms of Sale and Service (RFID Pet Microchips)
- Sales Channels: Identipet sells RFID pet microchips exclusively to veterinarians,
welfare organizations, and breeders.
- Refunds, Warranties, and Replacements: If an Identipet microchip is defective, our sole
obligation is to replace it. We are not responsible for microchips not supplied by Identipet.
- Subscription Fees & Additional Services: Our database is free, but a subscription
provides access to the Pet Rescue Network for lost pet alerts.
- Lost Pet Support: We provide support via the Pet Rescue Network, but we do not operate
a 24/7 hotline. Users should use the online reporting system.
2. Privacy Policy (POPI & Marketing Data)
- Collected Data: We collect pet owner information (name, email, phone number, address)
for pet identification services.
- Data Retention: Personal information is stored indefinitely unless a user requests
deletion, in compliance with POPIA.
- Third-Party Data Sharing: We do not share user data outside Identipet and its
associated companies.
- Data Subject Requests: Users can request data corrections or deletion, processed within
a reasonable timeframe.
- Marketing Use & Opt-Out: Users can opt out of marketing communications via email
unsubscribe links or account settings.
3. End User License Agreement (EULA) – Web App
- Features: The Identipet web app allows pet registration, personal details management,
and access to the Pet Rescue Network.
- User Accounts & Paid Features: An account is required to store user and pet details.
The Pet Rescue Network is a paid feature for lost pet recovery.
- Usage Restrictions: Unauthorized data scraping, automated queries, and unauthorized API
access are strictly prohibited.
- Age Restrictions: No age restrictions, but individuals under 18 should obtain parental
consent before using the service.
4. Cookie Policy
- Types of Cookies Used:
- Essential Cookies: Required for website functionality and security. Cannot be
disabled.
- Analytics Cookies: Help improve services. Users can opt out.
- Marketing Cookies: Used for advertising. Users can opt out.
- Third-Party Tracking: We use Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel for optimization.
- User Cookie Management: Users can manage cookie preferences through the website
settings.
5. Security Policy
- Data Protection Measures: We use encryption, Cloudflare protection, and secure
authentication.
- Handling Data Breaches: In case of a breach, we notify affected users per POPIA
requirements.
- Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): We offer 2FA via email verification for added
security.
6. Payment & Transactions Security
- Safe and Secure Transactions: Transactions are secured and comparable to in-person
payments.
- Payment Processing: Payments are securely handled via Payfast.
- Payment Verification: Transactions are verified via Certificate Authority (CA).
- Secure URL: Users should verify that payment pages start with "https://".
- Verification Programs: We accept Visa and MasterCard but do not support Verified by
Visa or MasterCard SecureCode.
7. Phishing & Fraud Prevention
- Secure Login: Only log in via https://app.identipet.com.
- No Confirmation Through Links: We never request sensitive information via email links,
except for account verification.
- Reporting Phishing Attempts: Report suspicious activity to our support team
immediately.
8. Contact & Enforcement
- Reporting Security Concerns: Contact us at info@identipet.com
for security issues.
- Right to Take Action: We reserve the right to take necessary actions to ensure security
and system integrity.
- Policy Updates: Identipet reserves the right to update this policy. Users will be
notified of major changes.
By using Identipet’s services, you agree to these terms and conditions. Continued use of
our services after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
